What is it?
Sodium bicarbonate, commonly known as baking soda, is a time-honored odor neutralizer and cleaning agent. Baking soda can be found as a naturally occurring compound but is typically manufactured from naturally derived materials.
What does it do?
Baking soda helps to remove odors, and -- because it is mildly abrasive -- also works to remove dirt and stains. Baking soda (sodium bicarbonate) enhances the cleaning efficiency of our laundry detergent by increasing the water's pH levels. When the water's pH levels slightly elevated (more basic than acidic) the baking soda works with your washing machine to remove dirt and odors, leaving laundry fresher, cleaner, and brighter.
How is it made?
Sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) is manufactured by combining carbon dioxide and soda ash (a naturally occurring mineral).
