Why Use Wool Dryer Balls?
A set of wool dryer balls can speed up drying time, get towels and clothes softer, and avoid the messy build-up of fabric softener and dryer sheet chemicals on your laundered items. Heritage Park Wool Dryer Balls are a sustainable solution for simplifying laundry day!
Wool Dryer Balls: A Smart, Sustainable Way to Dry Laundry
Sometimes a simple solution can make a huge impact, especially when it comes to tackling everyday tasks like laundry. If you're looking for a totally natural way to shorten drying time; reduce static; and soften clothes, bedding, and towels, it's time to ditch your disposable dryer sheets and pick up a set of Heritage Park Wool Dryer Balls.
Made from 100% New Zealand Wool, these dryer balls are a cost-effective, environmentally sustainable option to replace your dryer sheets. Our natural wool dryer balls are easy to use: just toss three (for a small- or medium-sized load) or six (for a large load) balls into the clothes dryer with your wet laundry and run the drying cycle as usual, although your load will likely take less time than normal to dry.
How Do Wool Dryer Balls Work?
When you add wool dryer balls to your dryer, they bounce around, lifting and separating sheets, towels, and clothing. As the items move apart, airflow increases which removes moisture and reduces drying time. Unlike plastic dryer balls, the pure wool fiber is naturally wicking to moisture, which also helps speed the process. At the same time, wool dryer balls work to soften fabric, so there's no need for a waxy dryer sheet or chemical-filled fabric softener.
Sold in a package of six, Heritage Park Dryer Balls are completely eco-and environmentally- friendly:

Why You Should Switch to Wool Dryer Balls
A felted wool dryer ball set from Heritage Park is one of the most time- and cost-efficient laundry accessories you can have. Wool's natural wicking properties, coupled with the bouncing motion inside the dryer, cut down drying time as much as 30 percent. This saves energy and minimizes subjecting your clothes and linens to excess damaging heat. This can significantly extend the life and beauty of your items. In fact, you should make a point of monitoring your laundry once you start using dryer balls to ensure you're not over-drying the load.
Felted wool dryer balls also get the job done: they reduce static cling and wrinkles (just think about not having to iron your sheets or favorite shirt!) while softening clothes naturally. There is no chemical build up on fabric (see below for more on dryer sheets and fabric softener) and absolutely no waste because they are reusable.
Organic Wool Dryer Balls: Healthier for You and the Environment
You want to be certain that anything that comes in contact with your clothes, bedding, and towels is absolutely safe. After all, every one of those items goes directly next to you and your family's skin. Unfortunately, liquid fabric softeners and disposable dryer sheets are loaded with chemicals, many of which are irritating and potentially unhealthy. Much has been written about toxic dryer sheets and the research continues to evolve; at minimum, the chemical softeners and fragrance can irritate asthma and allergies in some people. These products also leave behind a waxy buildup on fabric that can degrade its integrity and performance over time (see below for special concerns regarding towels).
Heritage Park organic dryer balls are absolutely free from any harmful chemicals; they contain only wool fiber. Dryer sheets are also single-use products that pollute landfills and water systems, while Heritage Park dryer balls are reusable for thousands of loads and 100 percent biodegradable. You can feel good about drying clothes and linen with Heritage Park Dryer Balls.

Let's Talk Towels: Dryer Balls Are Great for Your Bath Linens
Wool dryer balls are wonderful for everyday drying of clothes and sheets (cotton and synthetic fabrics, but NEVER silk, which is too delicate), but they're an absolute must-have for drying towels and bath mats. These items are made to be fluffy and absorbent; unfortunately, repeated washings in hard water and harsh detergent, along with the use of fabric softener and dryer sheets, reduce the look, feel, and performance of your towels. Over time, dryer sheets and fabric softener also leave a waxy build-up on towels that undermines the quality of the fabric and leaves them scratchy, smelly, and non-absorbent. This can happen on any quality towel, even luxury bath towels.
Wool dryer balls can help eliminate these concerns. They reduce static, leave towels fluffier, and don't deposit any build-up. Moreover, the reduced drying time can help your towels last longer by minimizing exposure to heat. We highly recommend using a wool ball set to dry any towel, particularly fine linens, and carefully following specific instructions for washing luxury towels.
Pro Tip: Restore stiff, scratchy, smelly towels in three simple steps:
You can repeat this process when needed to keep your towels soft, fluffy, and smelling fresh.
How to Use Heritage Park Wool Dryer Balls
Heritage Park Wool Dryer Balls are simple to use:
- For a small- to medium-sized load, use three (3) balls per load; for a larger-sized load, you can use up to six (6) balls.
- Because wool balls help your items dry faster, keep an eye on your laundry to assess drying time and avoid over-drying.
- You can store your wool balls in the dryer; NEVER put them in the washing machine. They are for the dryer ONLY.
- Our dryer balls are unscented. If you desire, you may add a drop or two of essential oil in lavender or another variety directly on to a dryer ball. This will leave a fresh scent on your dry clothes. (Note: carefully follow directions on essential oil to prevent staining).
- With use, your dryer balls will begin to pill; this is normal and doesn't affect their performance.
- If your laundry is particularly linty (think towels), you may see residual lint on the dryer balls. In this case, consider getting a second set of dryer balls and dedicating one to light colors and the other to dark.
