Heritage Park Floral Scented Detergent Is Both EWG Verified and EPA Safer Choice Certified
Detergent that Safely Cleans Silk, Wool, and Delicates
Your favorite merino wool sweater. That luxurious silk pillowcase. The cozy cashmere throw blanket you love to curl up with on the couch. These indulgent items have a lot in common: they are investment clothing and textiles that are made to last. And they all can be laundered right at home.
But you need the right detergent. You absolutely cannot wash silk, wool and other natural fibers in the chemicals, confusing compounds and synthetic fragrance found in commercial detergent. On the other hand, skipping the harsh detergents means using so-called gentle formulas that don’t always get that job done.
So how do you protect your fine washables while getting the cleaning performance you deserve? With Heritage Park Silk & Wool Delicates Detergent, made specially for cleaning natural, luxury fabrics.
Heritage Park Silk & Wool Delicates Spring Magnolia: Enzyme-Free Detergent for Silk and Wool
Some natural fibers like silk, wool, and cashmere can safely be laundered in your washing machine without the need for dry cleaning. Although these are different fabrics, they are all protein-based and should not be washed with regular detergent; even gentle enzyme detergents should be avoided for washing wool and silk, as detergent enzymes work by breaking down protein and can damage silk and wool fiber over time.
That’s why we created Heritage Park Silk & Wool Delicates: to effectively clean protein-based fabrics while protecting them from damage. This concentrated liquid detergent is a pH-neutral, plant-based formula gently cleans and removes stains from clothes and home textiles while preserving the softness and integrity of silk, wool, cashmere, feathers, and other delicate fabric. Use it to wash natural fiber apparel and home textiles in your machine (regular and HE machines) or to hand wash. Wash in cool or lukewarm water, and always follow the manufacturer’s care guidelines.

Competitor information comes from each brand's product page, label and Safety Data Sheet, reviewed October 22 and 25, 2026. A ❌ means the brand does not make that claim in those sources.
1 pH-neutral: Heritage Park Silk & Wool Delicates Spring Magnolia has a pH of 7 to 7.5 on its Safety Data Sheet (January 2025). The Laundress Delicate Wash lists a pH of 8.5 to 8.9 in Section 9 of its Safety Data Sheet (issued October 2, 2025). Woolite does not publish a pH.
2 Fragrance-free option: Woolite Delicates Laundry Detergent lists a fragrance and fragrance components, including Eugenol, Hexyl Salicylate and Isoeugenol, in the manufacturer's ingredient disclosure. The Laundress Delicate Wash is sold in one scent, Lady. Heritage Park Silk & Wool Delicates Fragrance Free contains no fragrance ingredients of any kind.
3 MI / BIT preservative free: Methylisothiazolinone (MI) and benzisothiazolinone (BIT) are synthetic preservatives that can cause allergic contact dermatitis in some people. MI was named Allergen of the Year by the American Contact Dermatitis Society in 2013. Woolite Delicates lists both Methylisothiazolinone and Benzisothiazolinone in its retailer ingredient list (checked October 25, 2026). Heritage Park contains neither.
4 No SLS / SLES: Sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS) and sodium laureth sulfate (SLES) are common detergent surfactants that some people with sensitive skin find irritating. Woolite Delicates lists Sodium Laureth Sulfate in its retailer ingredient list (checked October 25, 2026). Heritage Park contains neither.
5 Ethanolamine free: Ethanolamines, such as triethanolamine (TEA), are used in some detergents as pH adjusters and in soap-type surfactants, and some people with sensitive skin find them irritating. Woolite Delicates Laundry Detergent lists TEA Cocoate, a triethanolamine salt, in its retailer ingredient list. The Laundress Delicate Wash lists no ethanolamine in Section 3 of its Safety Data Sheet (issued October 2, 2025). Heritage Park contains none.
6 Dermatologist and pediatrician tested: Woolite describes Delicates as "dermatologically tested" on its product page and makes no pediatrician testing claim. The Laundress Delicate Wash product listing makes neither claim (checked October 25, 2026).
7 EWG Verified: Checked on EWG's Guide to Healthy Cleaning on October 25, 2026. Woolite Delicates Laundry Detergent is rated D (EWG data updated May 29, 2026). EWG has no listing for The Laundress Delicate Wash. EWG Verified is a separate certification that a product must apply for and meet.
8 The Laundress recall: On December 1, 2022, The Laundress recalled approximately 8 million laundry and household cleaning products due to bacterial contamination, per the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.
9 EPA Safer Choice: Neither Woolite Delicates nor The Laundress Delicate Wash appears in the EPA Safer Choice product directory. Checked October 22, 2026.
10 Made in USA: Heritage Park is made in the USA with domestic and imported ingredients. Woolite does not publicly disclose its country of manufacture. The Laundress does not state where its products are made.
11 Leaping Bunny: Leaping Bunny certification applies to the company as a whole, not to individual products. Heritage Park Laundry Essentials LLC is a Leaping Bunny certified brand. Neither Woolite nor The Laundress appears as Leaping Bunny certified in the sources checked October 22, 2026.
What Sets Heritage Park Detergent Apart
Heritage Park holds both EWG Verified and EPA Safer Choice certification at the same time. Neither Woolite Delicates nor The Laundress Delicate Wash holds either one (see footnotes 7 and 9). EWG Verified screens every ingredient for health concerns and requires full ingredient transparency. EPA Safer Choice reviews every ingredient for human health and environmental safety. So you don't have to take any brand's word for it, or decode an ingredient list yourself, to know this detergent has been independently vetted for your family and for the planet. The pH-neutral, enzyme-free formula is designed to be gentle on silk and wool, and the certifications are the independent proof behind everything else.

Why Our Concentrated Luxury Silk & Wool Delicates Liquid Laundry Detergent is Your Best Choice
We realize you have many options in choosing the best laundry detergent type for machine and hand washing your silk, woolens, and other delicate items: natural laundry detergent pods, laundry sheets, classic powdered detergent, wool wash, and more. But our concentrated gentle liquid detergent formula is the very best choice you can make, whether you are hand washing delicate garments like wool socks and delicate clothing, or machine washing a wool blanket or luxurious silk bedding.
We use only a short list of all natural ingredients and make our detergent in small batches for the ultimate quality control. A concentrated laundry soap formula means less water (most commercial detergents are primarily water) and less plastic packaging (smaller bottles). You can also reuse your bottle with our eco-friendly refill packs. Unlike pre-measured laundry pods or messy powder detergent, our easy-to-use measuring cap gives you total control over the amount of detergent you use. It’s total cleaning power with zero waste!
So How Do You Know a "Delicate Wash" Is Actually Safe?
Imagine this: you're reading a label and can’t pronounce half of the ingredients. So, what’s in your detergent? That's the guesswork EWG Verified and EPA Safer Choice exist to remove.
What Does EWG-Verified Mean?
The EWG Verified badge is a certification awarded by the Environmental Working Group (EWG) to products that meet their strictest standards for health and transparency. It indicates that our products are free of chemicals of concern and meet their high standards for ingredient disclosure and formulation. EWG-Verified is awarded to only the top 2.5 percent of products.
What Does EPA Safer Choice Certified Mean?
The EPA Safer Choice label means that every ingredient in this product, regardless of its concentration, has been reviewed against the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's stringent standards for human health and environmental safety. Safer Choice-certified products must also meet requirements for cleaning performance, ingredient disclosure, pH, and packaging. This helps you choose an effective detergent made with safer chemical ingredients for your family and the environment.
Here's why this matters to you: these aren't marketing badges you take on faith. They're two of the hardest certifications a laundry detergent can earn, and Heritage Park holds both.
"We wouldn't sell a product we wouldn't use on our own family's laundry. That's why we didn't stop at earning one certification: we earned both EWG Verified and EPA Safer Choice. We built the formula around what silk and wool actually need: no enzymes and a pH-neutral formula."
